Hampton Cove
Mountains, golf, and top-rated schools on Huntsville's southeast side.

What Hampton Cove is actually like
Hampton Cove sits in a quiet bowl on the southeast side of Huntsville, framed by Green Mountain and the Flint River. It's the rare neighborhood that feels rural — horses, creek bottoms, mountain views — while still being twenty minutes from Redstone Arsenal via Cecil Ashburn Drive.
The Robert Trent Jones golf course anchors the community, and most of the neighborhoods (Eastlake, Walker's Glen, Mill Creek, McMullen Cove, The Ledges nearby) feed into Goldsmith-Schiffman Elementary and Huntsville High — two of the best-regarded public schools in the metro.
What the area offers
Hampton Cove draws steady demand for its school zoning, larger lots, and outdoor access. Inventory in the core neighborhoods (Eastlake, Walker's Glen, Mill Creek, McMullen Cove) is mostly established single-family homes; The Ledges and the bluff communities add custom builds with mountain views.
If walkability, downtown nightlife, or new-construction bargains are priorities, those are easier to find elsewhere in the metro — Hampton Cove is established and prices reflect it.
Price ranges and what you get
Entry into Hampton Cove typically starts in the high $300s for older or smaller homes off Sutton Road. Most homes in the core neighborhoods trade $475K–$700K. McMullen Cove and the larger custom builds along the bluff regularly clear $1M, with view lots going higher.
Inventory is tight relative to demand — the schools and the lifestyle keep turnover low. Plan on moving quickly on listings that price well.
